BY MADELINE TERRY our students for many years to come .” The biggest project includes a new performance center on what is now a practice field between the high school and junior high . The auditorium will replace the old theater building that has been in use since the 1930 ’ s .
“ This new building will really allow for growth within our classes and the theater program as a whole ,” theater teacher , Kevin Bailey said . “ We are so excited to have a place for these students to learn all about theater and create some awesome art . We are also going to be able to host UIL One Act Play and other events , allowing our students a chance for real world work experience . We can ’ t thank this incredible community enough for believing in these kids and creating a space for them to shine !”
The new auditorium will also provide theater students how to use functioning equipment that they will use at college if they chose to follow that field . It will also be able to hold the growing numbers of students enrolling in the theater program .
“ I think I ’ m most excited to have a building that matches the quality of the students we teach ,” theater teacher Vanessa Bailey said . “ A place they are proud to invite people to and perform in . I ’ m also excited to be able to host things for our community and school district . Thank you to everyone who voted for this bond and believes in these kids !”
