“ It ’ s easy to sell student athletes as long as they check all of the boxes ,” Connot said . “ A lot of these guys stay on top of the program and make it super easy .”
Coaches get a lot of outreach this way too , being able to make the coaching staff better and stronger for the organization .
“ Our coaches are also making connections through this process ,” Connot said . “ Along with the students , they get to sit in college meetings learning play schemes and see how the recruitment process works as well .”
A highlight in this recruitment process is when head coach of UT Austin , Steve Sarkisian , flew in on a private helicopter to meet some recruits . Other large schools that have reached out are : Texas A & M , Texas Tech , Alabama , LSU , Auburn , Mississippi State , Baylor , Oklahoma state , Colorado state , UCLA , and Ole Miss .
“ The recruitment has really spread out across the country ,” Connot said . “ Our players are just coming out with more and more talent .”
