Junior School
From A to B
Mr Thomas Waldron, IPC Coordinator and Year 1 IPC
Teacher
The Year One students hosted their next IPC Exit
Point last Friday to showcase their learning around
the topic ‘Transport’.
They were able to reenact a Science activity by
getting their parents to take part in a Paper
Aeroplane Challenge. First of all the, students
helped their parents to create the super paper
aeroplane. Then the parents were ready to take part
in three challenges - Loop the Hoop, Perfect
Landing and Furthest Distance. Students worked
together to explain, demonstrate and record the
challenges to make sure parents knew exactly what
to do. Everyone had a lot of fun; a lot of aeroplane
records were broken! Well done, parents.
The students were also able to present and discuss
their learning from the rest of the ‘From A to B’ unit
of learning. They did this through a whole-class
presentation, first explaining and showing what they
had learned in Geography, Society, International,
History and Technology. They were then able
discuss this learning in more detail with their parents
whilst looking through their Science and IPC books
and IPC Self-Assessment folder.
I think the students can say that they definitely
moved ‘from A to B’ in their learning!
