Annual Challenge Cup
Aaryan Amar, Year 6
On the 6th of June 2014, all the Beacon students came with a wide-brimmed hat, a water bottle, and
excitement for Beacon Academy's annual Challenge Cup.
There were seven rotations: long distance run, sprints, rocket toss, long jump, Millennium Aquatic, Aikido,
and Chelsea Football Club. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the eight year levels did each of these activities
and first, second, and third place were selected.
After lunch, provided by LeMint and the PSG, parent and teacher events took place. An inter-house tug-ofwar competition took place and Fire was victorious. At the award ceremony, several students were
commended for their sport skill and Earth won the Challenge Cup for the second time.
"Beacon Academy's annual sports day brought back beautiful memories of my days in school. It felt like I
have relived my school days through my children. The house system, cheering, team spirit.....Indeed a day
well spent!" said Jasmine Mahtani, Beacon Academy parent.
