Year 3: Trophy Making 101 Gabrielle M. Hadipraja, Year 7 In Year 3’s Technology class with Ms Dipa, the students were busy making their own new trophy. To be specific, they dedicated their work to the Fifa World Cup. When Ms Dipa was asked about this task, she said that this idea came from Ms Elizabeth. Ms Elizabeth said: “Since making a trophy is an IPC activity, I have decided that the activity should involve recycling things because of the environmental problem.” The activity has been fun for the students. A student named Veronica Han commented, “This project is related to the World Cup. I think that we are designing the trophy for the World Cup.” Building Football Stadiums! Tiara Mirchandani, Year 4 The Year 4 students have been researching about stadiums in Brazilian with a partner. The idea is to create a prototype of the Brazilian stadium. First, they searched for the picture of the stadium then gathered alot of supplies. Afterwards they built a model of the stadium. After everyone put in effort in making their stadium, the whole class decided which they liked the best. This needed a lot of planning. Students had to decide when they brought materials in and when they would need to complete every part of it. Students will be able to use measurements to try to make the stadium as precise as possible. Besides strengthening friendships, this activity encourages a lot of communication. 5
