An update from bChannels - Sydney
bChannels has spread across the shores to Orem in the United States and Sydney, Australia and you may have seen
some unfamiliar faces on Jive from our sister offices.
Two of those faces are Sofia Lanfranconi, who showed tremendous dedication working from home in the UK calling
into Australia Partners to satisfy an urgent client request before setting sail for Australia herself to join the newly
formed Intuit team in the Sydney office, and Nigel Murphy...who also reports back. First, here’s an insight into
Sofia’s Oz-adventure…
Sofia Lanfranconi
Marketing Support Executive – bChannels – Sydney, AU
“It may be eight months that I’ve been living in Australia, but am yet to master
the art of a proper Aussie accent. I have, however, discovered a wonderful
country where you can get sunburnt when cloudy, build sandmen over Christmas
and where it’s common knowledge that 3pm on a Friday is beer-o’clock – Nigel
has taught me well!
The dynamic in the Oz office is great and supportive. The jokes never stop and
with such a diverse team, I have learnt a lot from everyone, especially during our
early morning discussions. Outside of work, I’ve seen performances at the Opera
House and discovered my spiritual home – a quirky suburb of Sydney called
Newtown where you can find a number of vegan restaurants, awesome
bookstores and plenty of bars in which to relax.
During my time in Oz, I’ve also been to the Blue Mountains, Byron Bay and Melbourne. As I’ll be returning back to
the UK in June, I’m planning to go to Cairns this month and snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. In May, I’ll be flying up
to Darwin and bussing all the way down to Adelaide (a 27 hour drive!), stopping at Kakadu, Alice Springs and Aires
Rock. If I make it out of the outback in one piece and not confuse saltwater crocodiles from freshwater ones, I’m
looking forward to catching up with everyone!”
