Community Engagement
Annual National Training Institute - Blacks in Government (BIG)
BCAGlobal participated in BIG’s Annual National Training Institute by
initiating a conversation on healthy eating. BCA’s CEO, Alex Askew, chaired
a healthy eating presentation and led a healthy eating and nutrition
workshop for over 100 attendees. The focus of the workshop focused on
the impact of good nutrition and the impact of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Valuable Social Change: Next Generation Leadership Institute
The Institute focused on the importance of food and nutrition for
communities of color in Mississippi.
Through culinary and food relationships, BCA brought a sense of
empowerment to a young audience to make better healthy food choices
and , appreciate good food through mindful eating. Students explored the
connection between local farming and building healthy communities.
Thank you to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and WKKF Community
Leadership network for making this project possible.
