Beautiful Borders
The One to Three Border
Designer: Anita Rose Company: Anita Rose Design
This garden space fosters connections with oneself, others, and nature. Seating for three encourages reflection, with a seat for two inviting shared moments and a single seat under a tree offering quiet contemplation. The planting palette follows the principle of one tree, pairs of shrubs, some seeds, and groups of three perennials that can be divided, promoting the concept of‘ easy as 1, 2, 3’ for visitors to replicate in their own gardens, cultivating calm and connection.
The Newborn Garden
Designer: Jane Eastwood Company: Jane Eastwood Garden Design
The Newborn Garden is a private space for carers to feed their babies, inspired by my experience of post-natal anxiety and created in collaboration with the Maternal Mental Health Alliance and Lansinoh. The garden offers a sense of enclosure, shielding users while fostering connection. A leafy canopy provides shade, underplanted with muted perennials. Grasses between seats in the curved bench create a gentle veil, allowing occupants to interact while maintaining privacy, offering a calm, supportive environment for bonding and reflection.

Nature’ s Resilience
Designer: Hannah Becket Company: Sage Green Landscapes
Nature’ s Resilience was inspired by rubbish I unearthed while gardening— a stark reminder of the damage we’ ve done— and by children I work with, fearful of insects and disconnected from the natural world. Healing begins with reconnection: between communities, ecosystems, and generations. Created from recycled materials, the garden invites reflection on how we consume— and how we might grow a more connected, hopeful future.
Putting Down Roots
Designer: Victoria Benjamin Company: Victoria Benjamin Garden Design
The‘ Putting Down Roots’ garden brings the warmth of Los Angeles to the UK, blending Californian courtyard aesthetics with drought-tolerant plants. Stepping stones set in gravel create a casual, wild feel, complemented by Agaves and succulents in pots. The colour scheme of warm oranges, purples, and greens echoes the Huntington Botanical Gardens, a personal favourite. The garden also serves as a reminder of the fierce fires affecting Southern California, highlighting the urgency of climate change and our connection to the earth.
