Connecting With Nature: A Sustainable Haven for Wildlife
Designer: Sandrine Hughes Company: The Sunny Gardener
Inspired by my own garden, this wildlife-friendly space shows how simple and rewarding it can be to support nature at home. As UK habitats shrink, gardens can become vital sanctuaries with hardy perennials, bug hotels, log piles, and a small pond, providing food, shelter, and nesting spots for pollinators and more. I hope to inspire others to create their own nature-friendly havens— vibrant, buzzing spaces that reconnect us with wildlife, right on our doorsteps.
Apple Core Values
Designer: Isabel Sabine Company: WFGA
This space explores how neighbours can create mini orchards in small gardens, planting different varieties of apple for all to enjoy while preserving each garden’ s individuality. Pollinators link the gardens, enabling blossoms to thrive. Human connections form through planning, selecting apple varieties, sharing apple recipes, and enjoying homemade apple juice together. The garden fosters community, blending individual efforts into a shared, fruitful landscape.

Super Blooms! A High Energy Dry Border for People, Plants and Pollinators
Designer: Rhoda Parry Company: @ coastalgardenclub
Inspired by Superbloom events in the Americas, South Africa, Australia, and the Mediterranean, this vibrant dry border connects visitors with a mix of familiar and unusual annuals and perennials. The sand and gravel setting reflects the Sussex coastline, where the designer, a WRAGS trainee, is based. It demonstrates how easy and budget-friendly it can be to create impactful, drought-tolerant planting schemes that attract pollinators and provide year-round interest with striking flowers and foliage.
Living Connections
Designer: Danielle Telfer
Living Connections, inspired by Whispering Trees Community Interest Company( not-for-profit), reflects the interdependence between humans, plants, and wildlife in woodland habitats. The organisation supports adults and children in reducing stress and anxiety through nature-based activities. Mature trees filter air, stabilise soil, and offer shelter to all that grow, dwell, or pass beneath them. As they fall and decompose, they enrich the soil and provide food, shelter, and egg-laying sites for wildlife. A pair of walker’ s boots symbolises our connection to, and impact on, this fragile ecosystem.
