Share My Garden – With Nature
Designer : Carleen Osborne Company : Carleen Osborne Garden Design
A garden that encourages wildlife can also be beautiful , and easy to create and maintain . This design shows two styles of garden that can be shared with nature : one shady , and the other dry , sunny , and drought-tolerant .
Shade is created by small trees that provide food and habitat for birds and insects . This is underplanted with ferns and shade-loving plants , giving ground cover for invertebrates , which in turn supply food for birds and small mammals .
The dry area includes flowers and sub-shrubs that are sources of pollen and nectar for insects , while their seeds provide food for birds in winter .

Flora & Flavour
Designer : Hannah Reid
A space which produces edible plants while having perennial flowers and trees that provide for the garden year on year . We have a seating area , where we can relax amongst the plants with a cooking space and an outdoor kitchen , allowing us to enjoy eating what we have grown , right where we have grown it . The space welcomes wildlife and encourages biodiversity with a small wildlife pond . Growing food connects you with the nature around you , growing your own produce has many positive impacts on the environment including reducing food miles and your carbon footprint .
