Truly sad news. Like I said on Facebook, his passion for bass fishing was inspiring! Bass Digest was only one of the testaments to that and working with him and Brent on that truly showed his passion and good nature! You will be missed!

From spectator to competitor to mentor and ultimately a friend. Shahid was with The TBC since the beginning.
I met Shahid at our first comp in Feb 2009 when he came to support his brother Abdullah and see what all the hype was about. In 2011 Shahid decided to join The Bass Challenge and quickly we realised he was in a league of his own. At his first Bass Challenge competition he came first and ever since then always managed to be sitting in the top 10 and most times the top 5. In 2011 Shahid was crowned Angler of the Year, however he remained humble and always offered advice and help to all Bass Challenge members.
It was always a pleasure to have Shahid at our comps and it was always a pleasure to see him.
The Bass Challenge and I will not forget his legacy and we will miss him tremendously!
