Civilization has bred career-oriented and indepe ndent women who consider marriage and relationships a trap rather than fulfilment. They regard it as one of the harbours to personal achievement since marriage implies social and personal responsibilities alongside societal expectations to bear children and make a home for a family. To meet these and more needs, they add that some personal goals must be forsaken. In addition to that, some women interpret commitment as a tool that compromises individuality. Hence, such women opt to be mistresses as opposed to being wives. No woman wants to be a loner or is defeated by the biological probation but, unfortunately, such things are inevitable and so for some women, it calls for emergency measures. “To see our friends getting married and establish healthy families while you are still in the search game is nothing less than misery,” adds one woman during the interview. “A wrinkle and the odd grey hair is a reminder that time is not on our side. Including lending someone else’ partner."
