6. When building a track how do you normally work? Do you start with the drum and build from that?
If its an instrumental production as I did on “Awakening” for example I start from a drum then I add a sample, a synth , snippet of vocals whatever works with the drum then Bassline at the end as bass-player used to follow the rest of the band in mainly band productions ( what I learn myself )
7. Do you mainly use analog or digital soft synth sources? Do you think analog makes a different?
My first Keyboard is a Korg Dss1 ( created on 1986) which I used on my first productions, especially for my bass-line which I never heard it sound like this one.it’s an hybrid of Analog and Digital keyboard which ,till today , can kick the ass of many keyboards or plugs, so yes, for me it makes a difference only if you know how to use it.
So analog its great but it’s not my case and it’s also expensive investment which I couldn’t afford it in the past to create my studio .
I now only use digital synth sources because is the way I learn how to produce music and you can make it can sounds great if you mix it right way.
Also I found digital useful when you produce a track with someone using same music software , so quick to collaborate with other now.
Today im thinking to put my keyboard back and I want to buy external tools like expander & keyboards ‘cause it always sounds unique.
