AYOBA MUSIC MAG SEPTEMBER 2012 | Page 15

8. Any advice on monitoring? Quiet? Loud? Do you prefer flat and boring Speakers, headphones or Big, Phat and chunky monitors?

I do music for Clubs , so my monitors must be Loud as I need to feel the bass and for that I use a Subbass monitor which I use only when im almost donewith the mix.

My monitors are flatter as possible because as digital source from my computer you can’t get higher quality then this so for me to keep this high digital quality I use a good sound-card which is the bridge to deliver the same sound quality as the original one to your monitors.

Also when a mix is done im gonna try it in my car sound system or my home’s hi fi and check how the bass result ;

09. How important do you think it is to have your music mastered commercially? Can you do it yourself as effectively and what tools would you recommend?

I never do mastering myself as for me it’s another job than producing even if it’s the same activity !You need the right set up for that and have the knowledge to make it sounds better than you original production.

The Mastering work is not easy hob as you need to understand first the sound of the artist and bring his music to an higher level for it to be be released on Vinyl, Cd and Digital. There is a lot of tools but I won’t advice any of them as I don’t want put anyone on the wrong way.

10. What do you believe is the secret to your success as a producer?

Probably because I get inspired by other producer but i don’t try to copy anyone and I do what I feel and believe right and good for my productions.As im 25 years of Djing , I think we can feel it on my productions which bring something unique on my sounds so then easy to recognize it.

11. Any advice for the aspiring producers out there?

Always the same advice :

be curious of listening different kinds of music ,
