at Woodham Academy
Throughout students’ five years at Woodham Academy, they
are encouraged to consider those in the community less
fortunate than themselves. This year, Woodham Academy
has raised money to support Children in Need, Water Aid, The
Teenage Cancer Trust and Jeans for Genes.
Digital technology helps students to understand that they are
also part of a global community. As a lead school nationally
for
The Network of Excellence in Teaching Computing,
Woodham Academy is at the cutting edge of technological
development.
Skype is used routinely to allow students to
learn from others around the world, from chatting in French to
pupils in a partner school in Lyon to learning American jump
rope tricks from a school in Wisconsin. Learning at Woodham
Academy goes way beyond the classroom, helping students
to take their place within the local and the global community.
At the heart of everything at Woodham Academy is a
commitment to Achievement for All.
Students leaving
Woodham Academy are well-qualified, having studied GCSE
courses in a range of academic subjects. This means that
many are well-placed to continue in education or to take up
one of the excellent apprenticeships or training opportunities
on offer within the local business community. Woodham
Academy has recently received the Investors in Careers
Award for outstanding careers advice and guidance.
