The firm, based on Aycliffe Business Park, has been boosted with the high-profile addition of Jim Graham in what is a major move forward for the 13-year-old firm. Jim, originally from Newton Aycliffe, spent 22 years with leading Thirsk-based steel fabricating group Severfield, latterly as operations director. More on this is at www.aycliffetoday.co.uk Stiller going the extra length as turnover tops £10.5m Stiller Warehousing and Distribution, based on Aycliffe Business Park, is going the extra length after seeing turnover jump by 20 per cent to £10.5m this year. The family firm has in the last six months invested in a fleet of state-ofthe-art vehicles, between them worth more than £1m, to cope with healthy recent growth. They include four extra-long trailers, which are 15.65 metres in length – two metres longer than the previous maximum length of trailer allowed on the road. Stiller has also invested in new 18-tonne rigid vehicles, conventional trailers, urban artics and six brand new Mercedes tractor units. The company has taken on 15 new members of staff this year, increasing its workforce to 115. Turnover is expected to top £10.5m at the end of the current financial year, Stiller Warehousing and Distribution general manager Matthew Stiller is taking the company into a new era ending December, up £2m on 2012.
