all your problems and cares go away and you feel happy. Skating in the mornings is one of the best things for me as after skating I feel relaxed and happy for the rest of the day. I love the sport for the emotion you are able to expressed and feel while doing it and even watching it and I hope I can share that as a coach with my skaters.
Q:What was the highlight of your skating career?
A:There are three major highlights of my skating career. One being receiving the triple gold award. As a skater I had that goal in mind for years and receiving it was a dream come true. Not only did I get gold in three different areas but I was the first skater in the area to ever receive the award as not even some Olympians have the award. It was an honour to receive it from Skate Canada and have my coach give it to me. Another highlight in my skating career is receiving the Luella Kerr award for achievement, personal success, talent, and skill achievement with the “Spirit of Skating”. As well as a balance with skating and other areas of life while being a positive role model. Receiving that award showed me that I had made an impact on not only my coaches life but other in my club as well. It made me feel as though the dedication to the sport and my club had paid off and that others looked up to me and saw a successful skater. Lastly, the year end showcases, every year we performed in front of a crowd which gave me something to look forward to every year and gave me a fun environment to showcase my talent. The memories and the fun times I will never forget from all the years and people I was able to perform with.
