How has winning the Emerging
Architect Prize changed your life?
Winning the prize has ‘opened doors’
for new relationships, opportunities and
networks. But, more than anything it has
been lovely to feel a part of a young group of
architects that are celebrated for our shared
passion and contribution to the profession.
What is a project you have worked
on that you are most proud of?
Whilst working at Preston Lane Architects
we won a submission to design two new
Kindergarten classrooms at my old Primary
School. The school had barely changed since
I had attended (20 years prior). I felt very lucky
to work as part of a team to bring new life
and energy into a school that had previously
fostered my love for learning, art and the
outdoors. Since completion, I have loved
watching how the students and staff have
embraced the works and I feel very proud to
have been able to ‘give back’ to a community
that had previously given me so much joy.
