AV News 193 - August 2013
There is a special prize for the best beginner's sequence, so this is an excellent
opportunity to see both National/International standard AV, and what can be
achieved by relative newcomers, all in one competition. Finishing time will depend
on the number of entries.
Whilst Saturday is about competition, Sunday is about learning. Starting at
10.00am we have ‘RPS NW AV Day’ - constructive comments and guidance on
attenders' work by our three judges who will later each be talking about a
particular aspect of AV, illustrated by some of their own work.
We would encourage all to attend - it is an excellent and highly enjoyable way
to learn.
Tea, coffee etc are included throughout Saturday and Sunday. An extensive buffet
lunch is available if pre-booked, or you can bring your own sandwiches. The usual
information and bring and buy second hand equipment stands will be present
(please put your name on items for sale!) You will be welcome on any day, or for
the whole weekend.
Information packs will be sent in the Autumn to previous attendees, and anyone
else whom we think might be interested.
Details of the weekend, other AV related activities and the WGAVG programme
can be found on our website www.wilmslowguildav.org.uk.
The Future of the Great Northern?
Editors
We are sure that everyone is keen to see the Great Northern continue and
importantly in its homeland, the North West of England. The L&CPU
(Lancashire & Cheshire Photograhic Union) have agreed to support the event
for 2014 and are currently looking at venues around the region within easy
reach of the M6 corridor - watch this space.
