As I hope this will be entered in the Internationals, I won't give the sequence
away. But suffice it to say, that the script, narration, photography, music,
dissolves made it not only the winner of the festival, but the winner of the
audience vote also and in the annual "battle" of the federation's when the
sequence beat "Dreamtime Connections" by Brendan O'Sullivan", as chosen by
Ian Bateman, when he judged the IPF Nationals in October.
So, where does "In search of Moya … and Felix" come in? Well, Raymond
Hughes' sequence, "Felix, Natural Born Killer" has to be seen to be believed and
I won't let the cat out of the bag in this one, just look out for it! We searched for
Moya in Ballyearl, but she was in Glasgow! "Felix" was beaten by a whisker by
"Moya" in the audience vote!
But, revenge is sweet, as I woke up on the Sunday morning to a "Light dusting
of snow" another of Raymond's sequences! I ended the weekend with an outing
to listen to "The Melancholy Gates" the sequence of Jack Thompson about the
gates of Hillsborough Castle, with eight others and an icy walk around the lake.
I have the dates for next year's festival in my diary!
