Can you tell us about your background in art and how you chose digital art for creating your decks?
I began drawing as a child and I don’t remember well enough to be more specific about my age. I primarily did sketches and wrote stories about them, and eventually I drifted more into writing. Both writing and drawing were relegated to a hobby as I meandered through life, finally ending up with a degree in computer science. As computers became more powerful and capable I discovered 3D rendering programs and began to play around with them. I really like to work with lighting, shadows, and depth, and my decision to use digital art, 3D rendering programs was based on the ability to create a 3D image on a flat surface, incorporating those elements.
Did you find it difficult to write the little white books for your decks?
Not at all, writing is actually my first love, and considering how much I love art, that is quite significant. The Book of Shadows that comes with the ShadowFox Tarot was far more than a little white book, and although Jennifer deserves all the credit for it, I did add a few things here and there. I intentionally chose a LWB for the Deck of Heroes because it felt more appropriate for that deck.
