When did you know you would create Tarot decks?

I knew I would be creating Tarot decks when I so badly wanted to impress the aforementioned woman I was in love with at the time. When I started the goal was simple, but important; I wanted to see a smile on her face. The more I created the more attached I became to Pamela Colman Smith’s work and the better I wanted to become, but the goal didn’t change. The truth is I didn’t think about appealing to anybody but the one woman, and being published was not only unexpected, but at times it is difficult for me to accept.

How many decks have you created? And do you have a favorite?

I have completed seven Tarot decks, and I have four more in various stages of development that I plan to one day complete. Of course the list may grow as I experience new ideas all the time. I don’t really have a favorite, although my first, Legends of Rock does have a special place in my heart. I do have a number of favorite cards from the various decks that stand out for one reason or another. Maybe it’s the romantic in me, but I like the Lovers in both the ShadowFox Tarot and Deck of Heroes, as well as the Two of Cups in the upcoming Tarot of the Night. Interestingly I also like the Three of Cups in both the ShadowFox Tarot and Deck of Heroes. Others are the Ten of Swords from the ShadowFox Tarot, the Knight of Cups from Deck of Heroes, as well as the Knight of Pentacles also from Heroes, just to name a few.
