Beth also pointed out one of the true paradoxes of living – one person’s negative thinking may be where someone else needs to be to grow. The Reading Room mentioned a few bestsellers which did just this However the entire room felt that many of them only put people on guilt trips when it they followed the instructions and got not seen immediately in return. DAX brought out the point that at least these books may have awakened a few minds to the concept that we indeed have some control over our lives and what we bring into them. We then briefly discussed religion and how age old beliefs may hold us back. Again there was agreement throughout the room that some traditional beliefs may encourage people not to take responsibility for their lives, and hence feel that it was God’s punishment when they had very little in the way of abundance.

The topics then turned to a deeper philosophy about abundance. We questioned if we need to live with very little or to completely trust the universe to fulfill all of our needs. In this case, when we are talking about needs we are talking about when mundane things like a job, basic transportation, and a roof over our heads. Beth pulled cards that stated: “It's all about energy and ambition. Nothing wrong with making money and "growing" your business or finances, but maybe too much focus only on money is the problem. Thunderwolf’s reading stated that as with all things we need moderation in our beliefs. If we have a well-balanced perspective, we can also have abundance. Jean Maurie added an interesting twist. She told us we knew how to manifest before we came into this lifetime, and we came here to practice! Clairvoyant Mary Nale came up with a real thought provoking comment – “Know what I think? I think we need to come up with new words for all of this...there's so much negative connotation after so many trying to make money with the Law of Attraction!” Jean Maurie stated that true abundance is raising consciousness and the light for all concerned. The major synchronistic cards for this topic nicely summed up the conversation and interpretation from the Reading Room. The most often picked card was the major Arcana card Temperance. At a very broad level, the card represents being temperate and maintaining balance in one’s life.
