From the very first question, the tarot explained to us how little we mortal minds understand true abundance. In fact, that was the very first question,” do we truly understand the meaning of abundance?” All of the Reading Room came back with an answer of “no”. Ivy Lieberman commented that “abundance means getting those creative juices going and ignoring the hanger-oners. This is a very broad and interesting interpretation of abundance. However it does speak to the truth of how the universe seems to work. There has to be a spark of some kind, a spark of creation for anything to manifest. DAX concurred; he said that we have some of the pieces, but there is a lot of miss information out there. Mary Nale pointed out that we are so focused on getting what we want that we miss the large picture of true abundance in the universe. We had a strong project tarot card of the very first question, that being the wheel of fortune. To read the wheel on a mundane level is to talk about the ups and downs of life. To read the wheel on a deeper level is to understand that the universe works in cycles or feedback loops. Beth Palladino commented that “we don't understand abundance because we don't really have the correct perspective of abundance.” Again, there was the concept that the universe has a bigger and broader definition than we can understand with our current level of consciousness.

Mary Nale talked about how the word abundance conjured the vision of thanksgiving table settings. ReeNee commented that at least her image included the idea of giving thanks which many dynamics of abundance ignore.

The next topic dealt with the idea of limiting definitions of beliefs about abundance-based on an author’s writing or on a religious dogma. The Reading Room looked this topic from two viewpoints. First, we look at it from the viewpoint of someone selling their personal beliefs about abundance and if it were the only way to achieve it. Because many authors insist that there was only one way to achieve abundance, they denounce negative thinking in any way. The Reading Room was asked if it was possible to live a life totally free of negative thought. Beth Palladino’s reading stated that constant focus on keeping one’s mind on the straight and narrow could actually hinder progress.
