After deciding to rebel against God, Lucifer became greedy. He didn't just want to be recognised for his achievements, he wanted to rule the world and the heavens. He wanted worship. He wanted riches. This was when his face – Mammon was formed.

Mammon is the demon who will encourage people to want more than they have. He takes great pleasure in driving people to bankruptcy and feelings of dissatisfaction. When influenced by this demon/sin, you may find that you are never satisfied with what you have and always want the 'next best thing'. When someone is affected by greed, this will impact on all those around them, as they prevent others from enjoying the pleasures of life, keeping them for themselves.

It is an almost certainty that everyone has been affected by the sin of greed, whether it be themselves or those they interact with. Just look at the world today. When you turn on the news, much of the actions being presented are driven by greed - politics, being a great example.

Asmodeus, King of the Devils: Demon of Lust

As the devil's greed grew, lust developed. He not only wanted material items, but he wanted to have passion and sex. The face of lust, the demon Asmodeus, then took form.

On the surface, lust may not appear to be detrimental to our well being, but this quality can have devastating effects on our relationships. It is lust that encourages people to stray. Lust promotes lying to cover up these desires and negative actions. And it is lust that can drive one to be exposed to disease and illness, which can then be passed onto others. Because of this, lust is considered a deadly sin – an element that inhibits our path to enlightenment and we are encouraged to be mindful of how it affects us.
