In part one of this series, we looked at the story of the fallen angel, Lucifer, and how as he fell from the grace of heaven his qualities formed the faces of the sins. Part two continues this story, looking at how these qualities can negatively influence our spiritual paths and what to look out for.
Lucifer, the fallen angel: Demon of Pride.
When Lucifer began to question his role in the heavens, wanting to have the authority and control of God, he began to put himself before that of his angelic purpose. His arrogance and lack of concern lead to the creation of the sin Pride. As this is the first sin that Lucifer committed, it is this form of him that resides over the sin, Pride. Pride is said to be the greatest sin, as it influences and leads to all the other sins. Without pride, the other sins would be rendered virtually void.
Some people question the negative qualities of pride; How can it be bad to feel good about yourself? How can it be bad to recognise your achievements? But the sin of pride goes much deeper than surface of simply being proud. When one is exaggerating their abilities or using their own pride to justify bad choices, then these qualities detract from their natural balance. This leads others to become self consumed and disregard that which helps the flow of energy. It is pride, not being proud, that can cause negative rebellions, or prevent others from what is rightfully theirs.
