All dogs are descendants of wolves, the dogs are the guardians of the threshold. They represent instinctive behaviour and instinct injuries; they are also a symbol of a dominant or possessive mother. Dogs are, in many cultures, linked to death and the afterlife and many dog lovers would assure you that they are psychic. Howling dogs have many superstitions associated with them many are related to death. Our howling dog is at risk of knocking the chair over, something else that is regarded as an unfortunate omen. If a chair is passed over a table there is going to be an argument and if someone knocks over a chair upon standing, it can be an indication of lies and deception. If you drive away a howling dog but the dog resumes its howling, it is a portent of death. Another superstition says that is a dog howls three times and then falls silent, it means a death has already occurred. Many cultures have superstitions regarding the spectre of a black dog which is viewed as a harbinger of death and disaster. A black and white dog is said to guarantee good fortune.
The cat represents femininity and has been historically imbued with supernatural powers. Egyptians gave the cat divine status and the moon was worshipped in the form of the great cat, Mau. Contrary to popular belief, a black cat denotes good luck and one crossing your path confers a wish upon you. The Moon is full which indicates success regarding the secrets of our heart. The bright moonlight is a sign of a united family. The Moon is not blocked by any cloud or fog, but there are still obstacles to our view.
