Bonnie Cehovet: How would you like to see this deck used?
Karyn Easton: I would like to see this deck used in a number of ways. I’d like to see it used as a traditional Tarot deck. However the ultimate for me, is that I would love for it to become a collectors’ item, but what artist wouldn’t like that for their deck? I’d like to see it used electronically as the colors and style seem to work well on a smartphone. But one way I definitely would like to see it used is for the game of Tarot, Tarock or tarocchi.
Bonnie Cehovet: What new things do you have coming up?
Karyn Easton: Ah now that would be telling . What I can say is that I’m still pondering whether or not to complete a full 78 card scenic deck. I started some line drawn designs a few years ago which you can see here: (http://www.tarot-lovers.com/new-tarot-designs.shtml). A deck is a huge commitment so I’m still pondering about whether or not to proceed. There are also a few electronic goodies in the pipeline with one project imminent.
Bonnie Cehovet: I love the Tarot app that you have out utilizing the Tarot Lovers Tarot. (I haven’t tried it out yet because I need to update my phone, but what I see is intriguing: Discover, Challenge, Reveal. Can you tell us a little about this app.
Karyn Easton: Discover, Challenge, Reveal is actually not just one app but a trilogy of apps, this was the inspiration behind the name, ‘The Tarot Trilogy’ The first in the series of three apps is ‘Discover’ – the idea behind the title is that to start with people discover the cards and learn their meanings. This is a really neat little app with a twist. It allows the user to browse the full deck of 78 cards and all of their traditional meanings are listed including some of the lesser known ones. If a card is spun upside down then the user can access the reversed meaning of that card. It’s really neat even though I do say so myself http://www.paranormality.com/tarot_card_meanings_app.shtml
