Uniforms & Equipment
The school provides uniforms and equipment to participating student-athletes . These items remain the property of the school and are to be used only when authorized by the Athletic Director ( not for recreation , P . E . classes , or outside-of-school events ). Only uniforms issued by the CCS athletic department will be permitted to be worn during athletic competitions .
Students who lose or damage uniforms or equipment will be required to pay a replacement fee ( amount to be determined by the Athletic Director ).
During the season , athletes are expected to routinely launder uniforms according to the care instructions given when uniforms are distributed at the start of each season .
All uniforms and equipment must be returned by the Monday after the last competition of the season . All uniforms must be properly laundered and identified when returned .
Coaches and the Athletic Director will determine and enforce which practice equipment and clothing student-athletes are to wear . Safety concerns and modesty will be used to determine these guidelines .
When a coach determines it is appropriate to wear a uniform or club shirt to school , the following guidelines must be followed .
• The uniform / club shirt must be worn for the school day .
• To protect a school uniform from stains , the coach may require a “ warm-up shirt ” to be worn over the uniform . These are sports-specific team shirts provided by the Athletic Department .
• All “ casual bottoms ” worn with a club shirt or over a team uniform must be one of the following : a team warm-up suit ( if ordered by the team / student ), CCS P . E . pants / shorts , or navy pants keeping in the basic style of the P . E . uniform pants .
• When additional layers are desired , all hoodies and sweaters must follow the school ’ s regular dress code .
Team Captains
The selection process of team captains may vary from team to team . Coaches should have a consistent process to select captains from season to season . The number of team captains will be determined and selected by the head coach of each team .
Each team captain must be an outstanding representative of the team represented . The conduct of the captain must be of the highest caliber , and s / he must not be involved in negative actions or behavior of any sort . Selection of captains is a privilege and not a right . Therefore , this honor is not absolute and may be revoked if the individual ’ s conduct is unacceptable and tends to be divisive , or if it discredits the team , school , or the Lord .
