Attendance ( Practices & Games )

their classes until the published dismissal time . When leaving classes , students should be quiet , and avoid disrupting their class .
• Students are responsible for completing all assignments given in all classes including those missed due to early dismissal . When assignments are due on a day that athletes will be leaving early , the athletes must submit that work before leaving for the athletic event .
• Students are also responsible for asking teachers for their assignments ( if dismissed before the class meets ) before leaving for the athletic event .
• Students must attend all classes regularly and on time . Tardiness and skipping will not be tolerated .

Attendance ( Practices & Games )

• Athletes are expected to be at every practice and game . Failure to do so will affect participation in games , and if there are excessive absences , it may result in dismissal from the team . Refunds of pay-to-play fees will not be issued .
• Athletes are expected to arrive on time for all practices and games . Arriving late may result in disciplinary action from the coach and may include reduced play time .
• Athletes are expected to be prepared for all practices and games . This includes wearing the assigned practice or game ( uniform ) attire and having a water bottle and all required equipment ( i . e ., shin guards , cleats , sneakers , etc .). Failure to be prepared may result in disciplinary action from the coach and may include reduced play time .
• Parents are expected to arrive before the anticipated pick-up times so that athletes are promptly picked up to permit their coaches to also leave on time .
• If a player is injured , that player is expected to still report to practice . The coach will then excuse the player , if appropriate .
• Athletes not attending practice ( for any reason ) on the practice day before a game may have their playing time reduced ( to be determined by the coach and Athletic Director ).
• Participation in scheduled practices and games during vacation times is voluntary but encouraged . Players are given practice and game schedules at the start of each season . The athlete is responsible for informing the coach well in advance when they cannot attend a practice or game scheduled during vacation time . Players may be disciplined for failing to notify a coach of their inability to attend .
• Athletes are not permitted to leave practices / games early without prior approval of a member of the coaching staff .

Academic Standards

Competing on athletic teams is a privilege . Students must maintain academic standards to remain eligible to participate in athletics . Generally , students playing on Junior Varsity and Varsity Teams will be subject to the Academic Warning and Academic Probation policies outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook . Ineligibility will be determined by the Secondary Level Principal and communicated to the athletes ’ parents , the Athletic Director , and head coach . Eligibility is typically determined at the time of each progress report and report card . The Administration may deem a student ineligible prior to these reports in extenuating circumstances .
For elementary , middle school , and club sports , academic eligibility will be determined by the Administration in coordination with the Coach . When it is determined that a student ’ s grades are low , especially due to missing or late assignments , the Administration will work with the Coach
