REGIONAL REPORT
TERRAIN
O
f all the things we do, Terrain
(the event) is perhaps the most well-
known, having played a seminal focal
point in the life, work and careers of
over 850 regional artists.
But as Spokane’s creative scene
has evolved over the years, so have
we. Terrain now offers numerous
opportunities for artists and makers
throughout the year. Here are just a
few of the additional ways you can
get involved:
We sponsor Bazaar, an outdoor
summer art market in the heart of
downtown Spokane, and BrrrZaar,
a holiday art market inside River
Park Square. Both aim to connect
artists to art buyers, underscore the
importance of supporting local,
creative businesses, and demonstrate
the importance of art and creativity
to Spokane’s economy. Both events
attract tens of thousands of attendees,
consistently resulting in well over
100,000 dollars’ worth of sales in a
single day.
“
You are providing artists an amazing
opportunity to grow our businesses -
thank you!
— From Here —
Terrain also runs From Here, a
retail storefront located in River
Park Square. Open seven days a
week, From Here showcases locally
handmade or designed items from
over 60 Spokane artists and makers.
Most of the shop’s participants
work shifts to better understand
their customers, and there’s also an
artist-led workshop space, making
From Here not only an incredible
platform to sell work, but also an
opportunity to learn from and grow
alongside fellow artists, as well as
the broader Spokane community. If
you happened to have visited the Pop
Up Shop in the Steamplant, From
Here is a bigger, better version of that
original concept.
