come apparent in recent weeks due to the excessive rainfall received in the area. The majority of
these improvements are needed from starting near entrance/exit Taxiway F and extending south to
entrance/exit Taxiway A.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
Project #8: Reconstruct Taxiway A to Meet TDG 3 Standards – 50 feet wide / Relocate Hold Lines
Description: Reconstruct parallel Taxiway A and the entrance/exit taxiways serving the north and south
ends of Runway 16‐34. The taxiway would be reconstructed to 50 feet in width to meet Taxiway De‐
sign Group (TDG) 3 standards. In addition, the hold lines associated with Taxiway A would be relocated
to 257 feet from the runway centerline. Given the scope and cost associated with this project, it is
conceivable that it would be phased over more than one year.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
Project #9: Rehabilitate Taxiway A1
Description: Rehabilitate Taxiway A1 that extends east of parallel Taxiway A providing access to several
types of aviation activity. This project could involve removing/replacing damaged pavement panels
and crack sealing.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
Project #10: Acquire Land for Approach Protection in North RPZ (1.68 acres)
Description: Acquire approximately 1.68 acres of land within the runway protection zone (RPZ) serving
the north end of Runway 16‐34, either through fee simple acquisition or a type of avigation/land use
easement. The associated cost estimate includes fee simple acquisition over much of this property.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
Project #11: Construct T‐Hangar Facility and Taxilane Access in Southeast Development Area –
Phase I
Description: This project could entail replacing aircraft storage displaced as a result of the City‐owned
T‐hangar area being proposed for redevelopment with the construction of T‐hangar facilities on the
southeast side of the Airport, similar to what is depicted on the existing ALP. Included in the CIP is the
Phase I development which includes the construction of one T‐hangar facility (approximately 20 units)
and taxilane access serving the facility. Taxilane access would connect to an existing taxilane extending
from the south aircraft parking apron.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 0 percent / Local – 100 percent. The Airport could pursue grant fund‐
ing assistance for the construction of T‐hangars and would require banking up to four years’ worth of
non‐primary entitlement (NPE) funds. For purposes of this study, it is assumed that the airport sponsor
will bear the entire cost of constructing the T‐hangar facility and associated infrastructure and utilize
NPE funds for airside‐related projects dealing with the runway/taxiway system.
Project #12: Reconstruct Runway 16‐34
Description: Reconstruct the entire runway to meet a pavement strength of 150,000 pounds DWL. The
project would likely be broken out into multiple phases due to the scope and projected cost estimate.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
