Project #13: Conduct Miscellaneous Annual RAMP Projects
Description: The final project listed in the short term program includes miscellaneous projects which
could be funded through TxDOT’s Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP). Each year, TxDOT
offers RAMP funds of up to $50,000, providing the airport sponsor furnishes a 50 percent match
($50,000). Thus, an airport can have up to $100,000 available for pavement maintenance or other
general or routine maintenance projects that may arise during the term. This CIP considers Arlington
Municipal Airport utilizing this source of funding to the maximum extent possible each year.
Funding Eligibility: TxDOT – 50 percent / Local – 50 percent.
Short Term CIP Summary
The short term CIP includes projects that enhance the overall safety, efficiency, and maintenance of
the airfield while also implementing landside improvements. The total investment necessary for the
short term CIP is approximately $28.32 million. Of this total, approximately $19.13 million is dedicated
for proposed pavement reconstruction/rehabilitation associated with Runway 16‐34 and parallel Taxi‐
way A. Approximately $22.93 million is programmed for federal/state funding assistance. The remain‐
ing $5.39 million is to be provided through local funding outlets.
LONG TERM PLANNING PROGRAM
The long term covers the period 6 through 10 years. Planning new projects beyond the short term
timeframe can be challenging. Airport management should regularly assess the need and timing for
these projects based on actual demand and growth at the Airport.
This planning horizon includes 16 projects for the five‐year timeframe as listed on Exhibit 6A and de‐
picted on Exhibit 6B. The following section includes a description of each project.
Project #1: Reconstruct Taxiway D to Meet TDG 3 Standards / Relocate Hold Line
Description: Reconstruct Taxiway D to its existing dimensions. In addition, the hold line associated
with Taxiway D would be relocated to 257 feet from the runway centerline.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
Projects #2‐4: Reconstruct/Rehabilitate Taxiways C, E, and F to Meet TDG 3 Standards –
50 feet wide / Relocate Hold Lines
Description: Reconstruct Taxiways C, E, and F on the east side of Runway 16‐34 to 50 feet in width to
meet TDG 3 standards. Another option is to rehabilitate the taxiway accordingly and designate it as
light‐load pavement. In addition, the hold line associated with each taxiway would be relocated to 257
feet from the runway centerline.
Funding Eligibility: FAA/TxDOT – 90 percent / Local – 10 percent.
