1. NGCM: When did you know that you wanted to get into the business that you are in?
MarQ: Way back in the late 90's, I admired how certain artist could just play with words and be creative, so I started rappin in about 97 but started taking it seriously in 2004, and then had some what of a rebirth into music in 2012.
2. NGCM: What is your specialty and style of music?
MarQ: I dont like to box myself in, but I do like to focus on my lyrics and rhythm most of all. Lately I've been hearing I sound like the 90's, but I dont only stick to that, like I got a really beautiful song with a singer/guitarist named Alyssa Turkowski called "Dream Big". I touch all facets of rap but I try to always keep a hip hop integrity in my music
3. NGCM: How do you prepare yourself for what you do?
MarQ: There is really nothing to prepare for what I do......I mean originally when I was just rapping, I would go through other songs, and rap notes to warm up my writing process, but now it's so much more than just rapping, I have to do my own marketing, networking, shoot and edit my own videos and soon I'll be editing my own pictures. There really is not much that can prepare me for what I have to do because I'm doing it all and always learning something new.
4. NGCM: Where have you worked so far?
MarQ: I really dont want to share my 9-5 jobs but as far as entertainment I have been a freelance videographer for over a year now. I have shot over 20 videos for myself and others at this point. Vlogs, documentaries, music videos etc.
5. NGCM: Who if anyone influenced you?
MarQ: When I was young I would have said Eminem because he inspired me lyrically, But now it's a whole bunch of independent artist that are making a living for themselves without the help of a label.
6. NGCM: Do you do tours and lots of personal appearances?
MarQ: Typically in the summer is when I really start performing but I try to be on the scene as much as I can.
7. NGCM: Are you currently working on any projects?
MarQ: I'm working on a mix tape called "DR. Minus" It's gonna be a whole bunch of negative songs and people are going to have take from it what they take from it.
8. NGCM: If you weren’t doing this what would you be doing right now?
MarQ: I would probably get my 4 year college degree and do something I hate.
9. NGCM: When you walk down the street in your hometown are you stopped by fans? If so, how do you deal with them?
MarQ: #nah
10. NGCM: Where do you see yourself in the industry of what you are doing?
MarQ: I see myself touring, selling merchandise and promoting heavily through online outlets.
11. NGCM: What are your views on changing the negative outlook that some say comes with the career you chose?
MarQ: Well, everyone believes its a child hood pipe dream, everyone believes that if you are not signed to a major label there is no way to make it. But the reality is that if you can build a hardcore fan base of 200 fans that will ride with you, thats 200 people that will purchase your product at $10 a pop that's $2000. Imagine if I could produce some product every month......THAT'S INTELLIGENT!
12. NGCM: Have you worked with other artist?
MarQ: Yeah, plenty. Crimes da God, Micheal Moon, Mic Blaque, Cause Nomad, Jzac and plenty more
13. NGCM: Do you listen to any other artist?

14. NGCM: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
MarQ: In 5 years I see myself touring over seas and charging people an arm and a leg to shoot their videos.
15. NGCM: Is there some advice that you could share with the younger artist coming up under you?
MarQ: Nah, I still have so much work to do for myself, and if they really want it they will figure everything out for themselves.
16. NGCM: If you were starting from square one would this still be your career choice?
MarQ: Hell yeah, I had to start from scratch so many times but i'm in this for the long haul.
