The demanding height restriction of 8m resulted in a low roofscape with modulated projections behind a gabled façade that reinforced the linear modulation and established the predominant scale of the building form . The overall scale is further reduced by the introduction of a covered colonnade walkway along the length of the façade . Extensive planting in the parking area with raised walkways and axial entrances further organised and scaled the building and site to satisfactorily situate the new development in its context .
The 300m straight length of mall results in a primarily single level mall with the under cover parking taking advantage of the natural fall of the site located on a lower ground level . The anchor Pick n Pay store is positioned on the east end . The entertainment node , including an assortment of restaurants and five cinemas , is
situated on the west end . The centre of the mall boasts the fashion centre , which is anchored by a 2,064m 2 Edgars store . Provision has been made for a future Woolworths store adjacent to the fashion centre .
