All entrances to the centre were treated as urban piazzas , softened by landscaping , pergolas and outside seating areas for various coffee shops and restaurants . The entertainment area , anchored by the cinema complex , surrounds a central open courtyard with landscaping and water features . Surrounding restaurants spill out onto this “ Plaaswerf ”, which is shielded from prevailing winds . A promotions court and customer care desk is situated off this courtyard and assists with customer convenience and the promotion of friendliness .
Public ablutions within the mall not only carry through the theme of the mall , but provide for family toilets , feeding , baby and changing
facilities . Wall features of sisal matting underline the rustic , yet contemporary , ambience .
Timber slats used in ceiling features carry the external pergolas theming through into the mall . The contemporary neutral interiors support the different merchandising on display and form a backdrop to the various types of individualised shopfronts .
A great deal of detail went into the design of the high shopfronts in order to maximise the display potential of each individual shop .
