FLOOR PLAN
The shopping centre was designed in a manner to cater for a proper mall linked to a convenient centre . The mall is the first regional mall in this area and had to showcase not only merchandising but also act as a focal point within context as shoppers to the mall come from as far afield as Oudshoorn and , due to its position , become part of the George CBD .
Design The design methodology was founded on the design principles of a closed mall with certain areas opening out to the vistas of the neighbouring surrounds . The centre was designed as a single storey building with on grade parking . Five entrances from the parking facilities provide access to the mall and suitable parking flanking the convenience centre supports the shopping pattern .
The architectural theming of the centre supports the vernacular Cape Dutch Architecture with the introduction of prominent gable façades highlighting the entrances . These entrance features were designed as portes-cochères for external covered drop-off zones , shielding the visitor to the centre from inclement weather .
