TREND GROUP’ S DESIGN AND BUILD SOLUTION FOR PROFESSIONAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY
When Professional Provident Society( PPS) embarked on the creation of its new 4,200m ² headquarters in Newlands, Cape Town, the objective extended beyond creating a contemporary office. As a mutual financial institution owned by its members, PPS wanted a workplace that reflected both the professionalism expected of a leading financial services organisation and the welcoming culture that underpins its business.
Trend Group was appointed to deliver the complete design and fit-out solution, creating a workplace that balances operational performance with employee wellbeing and a strong client experience.
Rather than applying a standard office template, Trend Group worked closely with the PPS leadership team and departmental stakeholders throughout the design process. Extensive consultation ensured that the final environment responded to the practical requirements of different business functions while supporting the collaborative culture of the organisation.
Connecting with Nature Trend Group balanced a refined corporate aesthetic with natural materials and biophilic design principles to create a workplace that feels both professional and welcoming. Warm timber finishes, lush planting and expansive views of the surrounding landscape strengthen occupants’ connection with nature while introducing warmth and comfort.
Client-facing areas were designed to communicate professionalism without feeling intimidating. The reception, coffee bar, bespoke boardrooms and training facilities provide welcoming settings for meetings and informal interaction while carefully considered acoustics support privacy and discretion.
A palette of brass, natural stone, polished concrete and timber creates visual interest and reinforces the balance between technical expertise and human connection.
Prioritising Employee Wellbeing Employee wellbeing was central to the workplace strategy. The headquarters incorporates a fully equipped gym, an inviting cafeteria that encourages informal interaction, dedicated wellness facilities and spaces designed to support both physical and mental wellbeing.
The PPS headquarters demonstrates how workplace transformation can extend beyond creating visually impressive interiors. By integrating workplace strategy, thoughtful design, biophilic principles and wellbeing with disciplined project delivery, Trend Group has created an environment that reflects PPS’ s organisational values while supporting the evolving needs of its people and business. www. trendgroup. co. za
