SPORTY GROUP

INTERIOR DESIGN: GIANT LEAP | PHOTOGRAPHY: RIAAN WEST

The workplace Giant Leap created for Sporty Group reflects the brand’ s energy, agility and strong team culture while balancing these qualities with a sense of warmth and sophistication. Rather than leaning into an overtly sporty or gym-like aesthetic, the design reimagines the flagship office as a refined, human-centric environment, drawing inspiration from contemporary hospitality spaces and forward-thinking technology headquarters. The result is a workplace that feels both dynamic and grounded, where performance and comfort coexist.

Located on the ground floor at Junxion Park in Century City, Cape Town, the space was thoughtfully designed to integrate with its surrounding outdoor environment. The open-plan layout establishes a natural flow between inside and out, allowing the landscape to become an extension of the workplace. By maximising openness, natural light and visual connections to the exterior, the interior feels expansive and uplifting. This connection to the outdoors also introduces a sense of calm, helping to counterbalance the high-energy nature of Sporty Group’ s business.
Grounded Energy At the heart of the design is a rich and tactile material palette. Textured timber introduces warmth and authenticity while earthy terracotta tones bring depth and provide a subtle reference to athletic surfaces. Calming greens and layered biophilic elements soften the interior, creating moments of pause and connection to nature within an otherwise energetic environment. Together, these elements establish what Giant Leap describes as a sense of‘ grounded energy’, creating an environment that motivates without becoming overwhelming.
Materiality also plays an important role in defining different areas within the workplace. Changes in texture, colour and finish
