an increase in footprint. Building 3 was completed in June this year( 2025) and now consists of 4,446m ² spread across four floors. Positioned opposite Building 1, this building forms the other arm that embraces the central square, creating an intimate court lined with greenery and art.
Sustainability While Buildings 1 and 2 both received a Green Star 4-Star Design rating, the bar was raised for Building 3. With the City’ s ultimate goal to create and maintain a Net Zero precinct, Attacq requested that Building 3 be assessed and target an EDGE compliance rating.
EDGE( Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is a green building certification programme initiated by the International Finance Corporation( IFC) to promote the creation of resource-efficient buildings. It incorporates prevailing weather conditions and local building standards and regulations. For a building to be eligible for EDGE certification, it must be at least 20 % more efficient than the baseline building in the three categories that EDGE focuses on: Energy, Water and Materials( embodied carbon). The EDGE certification system recognises three levels of sustainability achievements:
• EDGE Certified: Indicates a minimum savings of 20 % across all three resource categories – energy, water and embodied carbon in materials.
• EDGE Advanced: Achieved by projects with at least 40 % on-site energy savings. This reflects a higher degree of resource optimisation.
• Zero Carbon: The highest level, signifying buildings powered entirely by renewable energy or with full carbon offsets.
The project has achieved an EDGE Advanced certification, as at least 40 % savings were achieved in the energy category and 20 % in the other categories.
As an incentive to support the reduction of emissions, and with an understanding of the precinct’ s context and traffic flows, the precinct is equipped with a cyclist facility in the basement. This includes numerous bicycle bays and full ablution facilities with lockers and showers for staff who wish to cycle to work or
