LEFT : Blocks 2 and 3 was required to make the project feasible and that contributed to the challenge of designing a cohesive senior living community that wouldn ’ t detract from the beauty of the natural surroundings .
There were also quite a few well-established trees on the site in the southeast corner that the architects wanted to retain and which were incorporated into the design of some of the landscaping elements such as the amphitheater . The retention of these mature trees also contributed to the sense of place when the rest of the site had to be cleared completely .
The main residential site is located within this v-shaped 1.6 hectare portion of the golf course . The developers also acquired a number of houses adjacent to the main site that were then consolidated and are now the location of the Wellness Centre and the Care Centre . The main entrance of the residential development is accessed from Edward Drive and the service entrance is located off Carisbrook Street . The reason for the location of the entrance on Edward Drive is due to the prominence of the road and its location between Sandringham and Sydenham .
