Royal View is the latest senior living community developed by Auria Senior Living . It is a thoughtfully designed , centrally located , purpose-built community on the magnificent Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Course in Sandringham .
Kunz Raubenheimer Architects were approached by Auria Senior Living in 2017 . They were looking at a potential site located on the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Course . They had an agreement with the golf course to divide a portion of the northwestern corner of the course , to be utilised for a senior living development . The section of the site was 1.6 hectares in size and had quite an irregular shape due to the need to be located close to the golf course at the 12th hole . The site is fronted on the north side by Edward Drive and on the west side by Carisbrook Street .
Besides the challenge of the complex shape of the site , it also had a very steep slope towards the east . The developer also had a specific density requirement , which
The initial brief was for the architects to design a senior living estate that would embody Auria Senior Living ’ s motto of “ this is not retirement , this is living .”
