Swimming Caps

There will be no seeding batches in the Standard Entry swims , meaning that everyone in these events will receive the same colour cap . Those swimming in the Age Group Contenders Race will receive a cap colour according to the age group they fall into . Swimmers in the Disabled Event on Sat 12 Feb will receive a white cap .

Official Photographer

Safety

The manpower on the water at any one time this year will see approximately 60 qualified lifeguards adding to the safety of the swim . Together with the lifeguards , the SA Navy , SAPS Search and Rescue , K9 Search and Rescue and ER24 medical services will all be on the water during the races . Restricted Water Craft and Medical Emergencies text remains the same

Disqualifications

The following will result in a swimmer being disqualified and no time being recorded :
• Swimmers wearing any other swim cap other than the official race swim cap supplied ot them at Registration
• Swimmers failing to obey the rules or any official ’ s instructions .
• Receiving assistance while swimming , including the wearing of wetsuits or swimming aids .
• Substituting one swimmer with another .
• Finishing the event without having registered .
Any action that may bring the event into disrepute may result in disqualification and further disciplinary action .

The Finish

The procedure to gain the most accurate results for the race depends on the co-operation of all finishers , so please take note of the following requests : 1 . There will be 4 Finish Channels to exit the water through and will be numbered 1-4 2 . Once in a channel , please do not change your order 3 . Get your barcoded tag ready to hand in at the top end of the channel to a steward . Please do not drop the safety pin on the ground , rather put it in the box at the end of the channel
4 . Hand your barcoded tag and timing chip to an official at the end of the channel .
5 . Once your tag and chip are handed in , continue to the aQuelle and Racefood refreshment area where you will receive a bottle of the new aQuellé ViV Power & Sports Drink or an aQuellé Natural Spring Water

LOST CHIPS

Please inform the official in the channel of your lost chip in the water but still hand in your barcoded tag .

LOST TAGS

If you have lost your tag , your result from the event will still have been recorded Note : Swimmers caught unofficially swimming in any event will receive a life ban from Midmar Mile .

Pre Entries

All pre-entries close at midnight on Wed 9 February . Please note that no further pre-entries can be taken after this point .

Late Entries

Late Entries will only be taken at Registration on 12 & 13 February at Midmar Dam NO Late Entries will be accepted for the following races :
• Disabled
• CHOC Cows
• Age Group Contenders ( all ages ) Late Entries will ONLY be accepted for the Standard Entry swims , subject to numbers restrictions on the water at all times .

Indemnity

All Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife indemnity rules will apply . Events will take place irrespective of weather conditions , unless officials from KZN Wildlife deem conditions to be unsafe . Should it not be possible to hold the event , beyond the control of the Organising Committee , medals will be issued and no entry fees will be refunded .

Enquiries

There will be enquiry counters at the start and finish . The start enquiries counter will deal purely with start matters , and the finish enquiries counter will deal only with finish matters . Only authorised personnel are allowed in the finish area .

Medals and Prizes

Medals will be given to all finishers at the end of their swim , as they exit one of the four Finish channels .
