Lopes N Dreams Q-80757 owned by Pam Jones had a fantastic American show, winning a couple of the Hunter Under Saddle classes. On Wednesday evening, the GQHPA Committee welcomed competitors, spectators, supporters and sponsors to the Opening Ceremony of the State Show with Hannah Lonergan beautifully singing the Australian and American National Anthems. We were privileged to have the Lockyer Valley Regional Mayor Tanya Milligan attend the ceremony to welcome all visitors to the area. The Trans-Tasman Team Youth and Amateur members Amelia Galea, Sharnte Wilson, Peta Hicks, Charlotte Mansley, Cassandra Grainger, Lyndall Dauth and their coaches Kate Elliott and Leanne Bartlett were introduced to the audience. This is always a very popular and appreciated evening by our competitors. Thursday marked the beginning of the Sunshine State Quarter Horse Show and the GQHPA welcomed Michelle Pearson from Scottsdale Arizona USA as the show’s judge. First cab off the rank was Novice Amateur Showmanship with nine in the class which was sponsored by Sommers Sawdust Supplies. Keryle Devlin and Smoochin For Pleasure Q-78043 were the winners.
