MADDI ALLEN

I live in Mildura Victoria I have been riding ever since I can remember , I have given every discipline a go since I started riding but I got my first quarter when I was 8 years old and found AQHA showing .
I decided that ’ s what I loved the most and competed at my first national show 2018 . I have never competed in a Youth World Cup and I ’ m very excited to be a part of it . I started with a Shetland pony named Spirit , then went to a Welsh pony named Midget , and then finally at 8 years old I got my first Quarter Horse , Basil .
Basil has taught me basically everything I know about riding in general and has helped me to understand the importance of a relationship between horse and rider . Around 4 years ago I got Ella , who had been affected by the drought . Ella is my first horse that I have been able to start and watch grow . Unfortunately she has been unable to make it into the show ring but I ’ m excited to compete her in the all around events as soon as possible ! My favourite AQHA event is Horsemanship because of the connection needed between you and your horse to be able to get a great pattern . Hunt Seat Equitation is another favourite of mine because I love the challenging patterns ! I ’ m honestly looking forward to every single thing about the YWC , some of the main things would be getting to know loads of different people and gaining new knowledge from experts in the industry . I feel very privileged to be able to represent Australia alongside my friends ! What will I bring to the team : I think I will bring determination to give 100 % to everything we do as a team , I also think I will also do everything I can to make sure our team is full of positive vibes !! Something about myself that not everyone would know : I did ballroom dancing for 8 years and have been South Australian Junior Barrel racing champion .

CORA POTTER

I live in Comet Queensland & have been riding horses for as long as I can remember since day dot .
This will be my first time competing in the Youth World Cup . I have a few horses , Bugsy and Max which I compete on in campdrafting . Cowboy , I compete on at AQHA shows and Stoney , he is my heart horse and I do everything on him . My favourite AQHA event is TRAIL and RANCH RIDING .
I am looking forward to making life long memories and friends and also getting the opportunity to compete against others and doing the best I can do when representing Australia . I will bring leadership , kindness and helping everyone out with what ever they need help with to my team . One thing you may not know about me is that next year when we go over to compete , I will also be visiting my home town Weatherford Texas .
