MEET THE TEAM ...
SEBASTIAN MUNDY
I live in Hobart Tasmania I have been around horses since I was a baby , in the saddle before I could walk .
Your horses , tell us about them ? I have two quarter horses of my own , Dakota ( YLS Ima Rhythm Seeker , Q-50631 ) who is my show horse , and Saffire ( Can Do Crackin Lil Spin , Q-96087 ) who is my three year old in training . I also have my Arab pony I rode when I was younger . However , I also show my Mum ’ s horse and sometimes my brothers . I don ’ t have a particular favourite AQHA event , however I enjoy Hunt Seat Equitation , Pleasure , Trail and Horsemanship .
I am most looking forward to improving my skills and learning from clinicians and my teammates , whilst making connections with like minded people from across the globe . I will bring initiative , energy , great organizational skills and a commitment to support my team to succeed . One thing not everybody knows about me is I ’ m a passionate musician , playing both piano ( my main instrument ) and flute .
MACEY HULSTON
I am from Charlton in Victoria but have recently moved to Haigslea Queensland . I have been riding horses ever since I moved to Charlton to live with my nan Loni , who introduced me to horses and this industry .
I have only been riding horses for nearly two years . I have never competed on the Youth World Cup team . I have one horse , his name is Buick , his show name being GJC Surly Im Lopin ’. He is an 11 year old , bay gelding with a lot of attitude and a big personality . Buick has been the only horse I have shown , he has taught me so much and helped me become a confident rider . I should also give credit to my nan as he is her horse and without her I wouldn ’ t have been able to find my passion in horse riding .
My favourite AQHA events are Western Pleasure because of how much training and hard work goes into preparing for this class , being able to embrace the feeling of having all of your hard work pay off is amazing , I really enjoy Western Horsemanship as this class is judged on the way that the rider presents themselves and the horse to the judge but also how the rider communicates with the horse . I am looking forward to this whole experience as I believe it will truly be amazing . I am very thankful to have the privilege of being on an amazing team of youth , I can ’ t wait to meet new people from the different countries and to be able to see how different everything is in a different country . I believe that I am a confident and caring person , with this leadership role I will encourage and support the team throughout any circumstances , I will bring a positive mindset with me everywhere I go and provide all of the needed support to the team . Something about me that not everyone would know is that I am obsessed with my sausage dog Otto !
