YOUTH WORLD CUP TEAM

MEET THE TEAM ...

OLIVIA MACCALLUM

I live at Walcha New South Wales I haven ’ t competed on the Youth World Cup team but I have been riding for my whole life .
Beginning in hacking and then starting cutting when I was 7 . My Mother is a horse trainer so we have a lot of horses ! Some of my own including two 3 year old geldings on track for the 2023 NCHA futurity . A 5 year old mare who will be challenged and sold through the Nutrien Classic Sale 2023 . A 7 year old gelding who I Campdraft on , and my recently retired mare Evanescence who I showed since I was 10 . My favourite AQHA event would definitely be cutting , I love everything about it from the preparation , competing to the behind the scenes .
Although I have never competed in any of the Western Performance events , I did learnt about them at the Youth World Cup trails and enjoyed all of them ! Though , my favourite would have to be Ranch riding At the Youth World Cup I am looking forward to learning from the American Cutting horse trainers , seeing how they operate , and taking home all the tips and skills that will better my horses here . I am also looking forward to learning more about the Western Performance side of things and seeing how horses are properly prepared to be shown . I am also looking forward to spending more time with my amazing teammates and seeing them in their element ! I will bring to the team a positive and open attitude ( as I have a lot to learn ) and plan on being on my top showman game to assist in helping team Australia ! One thing you may not know about me is that I went to boarding school for a year and a half . Until I recently left and began homeschooling so that I could help Mum work her horses and continue training my own !
