AQHA CONDOLENCES FOR THE PASSING OF DAWN FOREST
The American Quarter Horse Association have shared the sad news of Dawn Forest ’ s passing . Dawn was a dedicated American Quarter Horse Association director , a valued member of the affiliate board , and a passionate advocate for youth . Her contributions were numerous , including her work on the AmQHA Youth Activities Committee and her recognition as the 2016 Merle Wood Humanitarian award winner . Dawn was also honored as a Youth Leader of the Year and served as a longtime youth adviser for the Texas Quarter Horse Association . Most notably , she was an unwavering supporter of the Youth World Cup event . Dawn ’ s life long motto “ If you are given an opportunity , take it , don ’ t wait !” will continue to ring true for all Youth members . The Australian Quarter Horse Association Board wish to pass on their Condolences to Dawn Forest ’ s Family & Friends at this sad time .
CONGRATULATIONS KELBY HUTCHINSON Congratulations to one of our own , Australian native Kelby Hutchinson , on his recent win in one of America ’ s biggest Maiden Western Pleasure events , the ‘ Virginia Maiden ’ with a total class purse of $ 46,125.00 ! The Virginia Maiden paid out a huge $ 157,000 over the duration of the show .
Kelby , along with his family , showed Quarter Horses his entire Youth Career and represented Australia on the Youth World Cup Team before becoming a Professional and leaving our shores for the USA . The AQHA Board Members & Staff wish to pass on their condolences to the Daley Family . Karen Gay Daley , passed away 12 / 6 / 2024 , aged 74 years . Loving mum of Jodie ( dec ) Jason , Samantha & Lesa . Grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren . May she rest in peace with the angels .
