c) Been awarded at least ten (10) points at State or National level (horses born after 1.8.94). 61.8 AQHA Supreme Champion May be awarded by the Association, at its discretion, to any registered horse after it has: a) Been awarded at least a Superior Award in Halter; and b) Been awarded at least three (3) Superior Performance awards in any class; and c) Been awarded at least a ROM in one (1) of the following performance categories: Racing, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping, Camp Drafting, Cutting or Working Cowhorse. Note: This ROM must not be from the previous three (3) Superior Awards in Rule 61.8 a) and b) and been awarded twenty five (25) points or more at National or State Championship classes or approved City Royal Shows. 61.9 AQHA Performance Medal May be awarded by the Association, at its discretion, to any registered horse after it has: a) Been awarded three (3) Superior Performance Horse awards in any class; and b) Been awarded at least a ROM in one (1) of the following performance categories: Racing, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping, Campdraft, Cutting, Working Cowhorse; Western Riding; Reining; and c) Been awarded twenty five (25) or more points at National or State championship events or approved capital city Royal Shows. 61.10 AQHA Medal of Esteem May be awarded to any member of the Association, past or present, which in the opinion of the Association, has made a major contribution to the Quarter Horse breed in Australia. 61.11 AQHA Medal of Excellence May be awarded to any horse registered with the Association, which in the opinion of the Association has excelled in any phase of equestrian activity and/or promotion of the Australian Quarter Horse. 61.12 Special Achievement Recognition a) This award has been established to give registered Australian Quarter Horses recognition on their permanent records for outstanding achievements in special events not approved by the AQHA. b) In order for results from special events to be accepted as a part of AQHA records, the following criteria must be met: i) the organisation sponsoring the event must be National in scope. The AQHA may, at its discretion, grant approval for any event they deem appropriate to be added to the list of events qualifying for special recognition; ii) the event must be open to all breeds of horses; iii) the placing and/or standings must be presented to the AQHA by the relevant Association within sixty (60) days following the event; iv) if a registered Australian Quarter Horse wins one of the following classes, it will earn a Special Page 67
