The Senior Prank X-Files A look back at some of the best and worst Senior pranks

Senior pranks are an annual event , and something every graduate-to-be looks forward to . The Seniors over the years have pulled some great pranks , but also have had some terrible ones .
One prank that has actually stood the test of time was the 2008 class painting their graduating year on the roof . While shocking at the time , it has become a tradition for the Senior class to have their graduating year painted on the roof of the gym . It ’ s fitting that “ 2008 ” is still visible to pay homage to the Seniors who started it all .
One prank that many teachers remember was the letter scandal . A group of Seniors got a copy of Brother Rice ’ s letterhead and created a letter that mimicked then-
President John Birney ’ s letters at the time . They mailed the letter to every Senior family , stating that the school year would be extended by two weeks in June due to excessive snow days that Winter . It was received with panic at first , and then good
Painting the roof began as a Senior prank but now is a Senior tradition
humor once the joke was out .
Not all pranks went so well , however . Like when someone snuck into the school after hours and proceeded to put super glue in all the locks .
This prank did not work since they forgot to super glue a single door . It ended up costing thousands in damages and is one of the reasons for security cameras all over the school .
Another year , hundreds of bouncy balls were thrown into the hallway . While it was funny for a bit , it later backfired when a Senior was injured .
One person who you would think should hate the senior prank actually enjoys them .
“ I always look forward to the Senior prank , but if you ’ re going to do it , make it a great effort and not just a few kids doing a bad practical joke ,” said Dean Williamson . “ If it ’ s a good one that makes me laugh , I will be fine with it .
“ I can ’ t wait to see what the Seniors have planned for this year .”
